Our Kitchen

Drawing inspiration from the Eastern Mediterranean and the Levant, our kitchen uses traditional wood-fired and charcoal methods - techniques passed down, perfected, and preserved. Every ingredient is chosen with purpose. Every plate carries a method, a memory, and a place.

VIXI [vix-i] - Latin for "I have lived." Born from decades of craft and curiosity, the name carries everything: the experience, the age, the mistakes, and the lessons. It lives in every dish that leaves the kitchen.

Purposefully lived-in. Colourful, warm, and welcoming to all - at 49 Bree Street, Cape Town, this is a space where pretence is left very much at the front door. A safe space to be exactly yourself.

We recently celebrated a special dinner and gender reveal for a dear friend and colleague at Vixi Social, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish.

The hospitality was outstanding, and the team went above and beyond to make our celebration memorable. A special thank you to Jill, whose warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made us feel truly welcomed and cared for throughout the evening. Her service was impeccable and added a personal touch that made the occasion even more special.

The food was absolutely delicious beautifully presented, full of flavour, and enjoyed by everyone at our table. Every dish reflected quality and care, making the dining experience just as memorable as the celebration itself.

Thank you to Jill and the entire Vixi Social team for creating such a wonderful atmosphere and helping us celebrate such an important milestone. We highly recommend Vixi Social to anyone looking for great food, exceptional service, and genuine hospitality.

Another successful dinner club evening. 14 of us all ordering different food with different tastes and we all agreed that everything we ordered was great, tasty and flavourful. Friendly and good service from the waiters. Great vibes and atmosphere. I had the rebound pizza and my wife had the burger. Both very yummy. We also had the potato starters as well as the halloumi cheese. The potatoes were amazing. Halloumi is always delicious and so was this. Food came promptly after ordering even for a table of 14. All round great experience and definitely recommended. Thanks for a wonderful experience and delicious food.

This restaurant was such a nice find. My wife and I ended up eating here 2 nights in a row. I had the Portuguese steak. My wife had the super cheesy ravioli. Second night I did a 400 g sirloin and she had chicken kebabs. Despite the huge portions, somehow we still had room for the lava cake. Super friendly staff & excellent food. You may want to take your camera along to the bathroom.

We shared some of the Mezze, wich were great! We ordered beetroot and feta dip (most of it was beetroot, but very delicious), patatas bravas, grilled chorizo and some garlic bread. That all was very good. I wish we only ordered mezze and more of them!
After that I had the hot smoked salmon pasta. The pasta was not bad, but also not the best. Unfortunately I found some bones in the fish.
My boyfriend ordered steak and liked it very much. Would recommend it!

Drank beer and wine, both was very good!

Price and atmosphere were good more than acceptable for a big restaurant like this.

Fabulous place with really good drinks and good food. The service is stellar! The warmth of the staff is welcoming and their attention to you and your experience is spot-on. Great music playing in the background there is ample seating inside and several choices for patio seating (no smoking on the patios is allowed and I loved this). The food was solid, fresh and plentiful. The lamb chops were tender and not too fatty and peppersauce was yummy (i would suggest ordering on the side to avoid too much and to allow the flavor of the chops to shine more). The garlicky potatoes were delish. Great place to sit alone or meet-up with friends, relax, shoot the breeze and enjoy good food and a chill and relaxed vibe.

Looking for somewhere to have a late lunch, Google search helped us find VIXI. There were not many customers and the bright afternoon sun made the colourful
interior even more welcoming.
The female server was cheerful and helpful, and the food was tasty and good value.
Overall a very enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours.

The food was amazing! The Caprese salad very unique with avocado, but extremely tasty and Gorgonzola ravioli was extremely good. The service was great. They sure try hard and you can tell everyone was enjoying their meal.
